Tor zum Unteruckersee Prenzlau

The future urban development will be concentrated near the lake and culminate in the premium open space of the Lake Deck. In addition to private housing in the form of small villas comprising two to three full storeys, the site of the former Kannengiesser brewery and its baroque Kettenhaus will be developed as a tourist location. The Kettenhaus will become a guesthouse, the existing restaurant will add an additional storer of holiday flats and a new construction on the lake will become a hotel, making this already scenic lakeside location a sought-after address for short-stay travellers. An avenue lined with swamp oaks on either side leads from the lake to Marienkirche, whose forecourt is accessed by an expansive set of stairs, where a long bench and fountain create an intimate little town square. At the interface between the old and new town, the Lake Deck, which evolves from the lakeside promenade and allows direct access to the water, interweaves the town promenade with the Uckerpromenade along the lake. Wide wooden planks create a lounge area by the water. The Lake Deck provides an ideal setting for festivals and cultural events.
