Playground Nature and Play Bad Iburg

The redesigned spa park offers attractive places to stay with a view of the water and a high atmospheric density. The staging of new pathways and visual axes provide connections and points of contact between the castle, the spa clinic, the Waldkurpark and the newly created Kneipp theme gardens.
The barrier-free design aims to integrate people with limited mobility into the public life of the city society. In this way, the landscape-aesthetic emphasis on the special nature of the site and the ability to experience the spatial qualities revitalises an old typology with an eye for different user groups.
Between the ponds in a clearing, a new play landscape with the theme of “nature and play” has been created for children of all ages. A three-metre-high climbing object with a trap-like net structure and slide stands as a solitaire in the centre of the sand play area, surrounded by a hammock and bouncy circles, all in organic drip-inspired shapes. The bright, colourful design sets the rope net sculpture apart from the forest surroundings and acts as an eye-catcher and centre of attraction.
