Seepark and Citybay Eutin

Eutin is a prime example of how a city that already benefits from an extraordinarily favourable location can significantly hone its identity through targeted interventions and thus strengthen residents' identification with their city while increasing its appeal for visitors. In many cases Eutin had turned its back on the advantages inherent to its picturesque setting between two lakes. The proposed measures have succeeded in linking existing and new green spaces to the water and to each other – expansive, newly oriented axes in Seepark, which continue over jetties and into the water, establish new visual connections while allowing the site to be experienced in a completely new way. Creative sporting and playground areas as well as sunbathing and picnic spaces address the former lack of offerings for the young. The Stadtbucht (City Bay) acts as a link between this open space, which is designed for active use, and the historic, listed Schlossgarten (Castle Garden). The promenade, with all its urban flair, also connects to the nearby Old Town.
