Waldkur- and Charlottenseepark Bad Iburg

The Kneipp spa town of Bad Iburg benefits from its picturesque location at the edge of Teutoburg Forest, whose wooded hills surround the town to the west and form the backdrop for the medieval Iburg Castle. Contrary to its surrounding communities, Bad Iburg has suffered decreasing tourism numbers in recent years. With the advantage of great civic commitment, the town, along with the state of Lower Saxony, have decided to seize the State Horticultural Show as an opportunity to establish long-term development momentum. Key aspects of the new spa park are new, attractive and densely atmospheric spots to linger while overlooking the water, as well as the orchestration of new pathways and visual axes that forge connections and points of contact between the castle, spa clinic, Waldkurpark and the newly created Kneipp theme gardens. These interventions and additions succeed in furthering the possible uses and urban integration of the spa park.
