Mühlbachbogen Rosenheim

Mühlbachbogen, located between the future residential quarter and the combined heat and power plant, is the main connection between Rosenheim’s old town and the newly created Mangfallpark. For this purpose, the piped Mühlbach was exposed and developed as an attractive green link. In contrast to the watercourses of the near-natural Hammerbach, Mangfall and Inn, the Mühlbach is interpreted as an “urban stream” and its banks lined with walls. The sculptural enclosure by these walls creates space for urban waterside gardens via recesses and widenings. Stream gardens planted with perennials (daylilies, grasses) and furnished with seating elements invite visitors to linger. Two concrete bridges, one of which can be traversed by car, cross the Mühlbach.
