Expansaion of Bucerius Law School Hamburg

The newly added components in development areas 1 and 2 fit naturally into the overall landscape context established by Planten un Blomen, the Wallanlagen Parks and the botanical garden. The park-like campus will undergo a carefully expansion while maintaining its basic structure. The prominent old trees will be preserved to the greatest possible extent; they help foster an atmospheric setting.
The promenade-like fringe, with its paved natural stone surface, is extended to connect the new buildings to the central campus area. The transition between urban edge and park is mediated by long seating steps and green terraces. The outer strip will be more intensively programmed, with outdoor terraces for the dining hall and bicycle parking. Rainwater is managed via a central retention trough in the park. Development area 1 will have a plaza-like opening at Jungiusstraße.
