Nature in Wassertrüdingen 2019
The compact historical urban structure of Wassertrüdingen’s old town, with its central axis of Marktstraße leading to and terminating at the castle, is a gem with high tourist potential. The Wörnitz Promenade redefines the interface between town and landscape. This new urban promenade supplements the central axis with an outer ring, bringing the town centre back to the water. The area adjacent to the already redesigned city centre will give rise to a park-like transition between the city and its surrounding landscape. The fringe of the landscape is formulated with structural and architectural clarity. At this narrow interface, the city and the landscape confront one another with compelling contrast. The urban side comprises stairs, ramps and long wooden platforms, while steps of lawn face the pastoral landscape, offering recreational areas with views of the countryside.
