LGS Überlingen 2020

With the State Horticultural Show 2020, Überlingen is raising its profile as a desirable recreational town on Lake Constance. Überlingen’s lakeside promenade, already the longest on Lake Constance as well as a tourist magnet and unique selling point for the town, will be extended to the west as far as Sylvester Chapel.
The extended promenade creates a direct link between the city’s attractions: from the historic old town, by the molasse rocks and moat system and to the lakeside recreational landscape. The incisions of the two harbour facilities continue the city’s moat system to the lakeshore while dividing the lakeside promenade into two distinct areas: A stone promenade between the two harbour basins and a green recreational promenade beyond the basins.
The new Westpark marks the western entrance to Überlingen and, as a modern park with a wide range of uses and high recreational value, complements the magnificent historical parks. The park’s expansive meadow areas with loose groups of trees provide views to the lake and create a direct visual relationship between the molasse rock edge and the lakeshore.
